Blogger Interview | Madisen English

Hello Beautiful People,

Today i'm interviewing the beautiful and positively radiant Madisen from  ↠melaninskinandcurls↞ Not only is she a really good person but she's a great supporter. Today she's letting us in on her journey giving us a glimpse in her light 🌞

  • Who are you?

— My name is Madisen and I live in Charlotte, NC. I’m 24 years old and recently started blogging in March 2018.

  • What do you blog about?

— I blog about transitioning hair, natural hair, and skincare. I have also decided to throw in a couple of lifestyle posts discussing my chronic illness and also mental health issues.

  • What are ways to keep you inspired?

— Connecting with other bloggers and learning what they blog about keeps me inspired. It’s always nice to support others and also learn a thing or two from them. I enjoy the Facebook blogger groups I’m part of and I also love reading other bloggers posts. Seeing different writing styles and topics are interesting to me.

— Another way I stay inspired is by learning more about my hair and skin. I’m obsessed with natural hair and skin products and I love trying new things so I can blog about my results. It helps me to get more content!

  • What are some challenges you experience with blogging?

— One challenge is having writers block. I have so many ideas that run through my mind but I’m not sure how to put them in words. It’s frustrating when you want to write but can’t think of anything. That’s when I become worried about not getting content out on time (I post weekly on Saturday’s).

— Another challenge I experience is driving more traffic to my blog. I did recently reach 1,000 views on my blog and seeing as I’ve only been doing this for two months is amazing; but I want more. I feel like I need to push myself to make myself more known. I try to promote on social media platforms and post my newest blog but sometimes it doesn’t get as much traffic as I would expect. There’s nothing like feeling disappointed when you worked long and hard on certain content and it’s not getting the feedback you thought it would.

  • How do you empower other women?

— I empower other women by supporting them and encouraging them especially if they are blogging like me. We all start somewhere and I feel that we should never feel like we’re too good to compliment anyone or offer a hand to help. I always let people know that I’m there to listen if they ever need anything and I always make sure to say something nice to a woman every single day. I enjoy putting a smile on peoples faces and making them feel special!!

I love Madisen’s IG feed/bog! I’m so happy to see her featured here. I sensed immediately that she had a great heart and really enjoyed what she was doing. I’m not transitioning anymore but I still find her page useful and honest. She has introduced me to a lot of small brands and I love how she is always supporting other females!!
